Deep conditioning natural hair can help to repair and moisturise your hair. It should be done at least once every 2 weeks for stronger, softer and more lustrous hair. The most popular treatments are:
Protein based deep conditioners. These conditioners help to repair damage done to your hair (e.g. by relaxing or dyeing) over time. They fill gaps in the cuticle and form temporary bonds, strengthening the strands. Once a month is sufficient for mildly damaged hair.
Moisture based deep conditioners soften and moisturise very dry hair this can help to reduce breakage and leave hair feeling soft.
Protein and moisture based conditioners are for those who have both dry and damaged hair.
Coconut, avocado oil and olive oil are known to be able to penetrate the hair shaft and cuticle; when possible, incorporate them into deep conditioning treatments
Steaming hair for 10-20 minutes whilst deep conditioning allows conditioners to penetrate the hair strands as the cuticles are lifted.. The result is extra moisture and elasticity. (alternatively a plastic cap can be used along with a blow-dryer)

After conditioning, cool water should be used to seal the cuticle.
- Focus on your ends. This is the oldest part of your hai
-Don’t overdo it. Too much deep conditioning- whether protein or not- will result in more hair breakage
